Dow to Showcase Innovative Technologies at In-Cosmetics Europe

Horgen, Switzerland - April 01, 2013

As a leading provider of innovative solutions to enhance the performance and sensory appeal of personal care products, Dow (NYSE: DOW), announced today that will introduce two new offers to expand its robust portfolio of ingredients and technologies at the upcoming In-Cosmetics Europe trade show, the leading global business platform for personal care ingredients.

In response to market needs and input from ongoing interaction with consumers, Dow will again launch new offerings at this year’s show, with new solutions for skin care and cleansing applications. EcoSense™ 3000 Surfactant (INCI Name: Decyl Glucoside) is an alkyl polyglucoside surfactant that rounds out Dow’s portfolio of readily biodegradable, plant-based surfactants which facilitate the formulation of more mild cleansing products, while MoistStar™ HA+ Moisturizing Technology offers longer-lasting skin moisturization when compared to equivalent levels of Hyaluronic Acid used alone.

“We are pleased to continue to use In-Cosmetics Europe as our platform to present new offerings that address key needs,” commented Carlos Silva Lopes, Global Marketing Director at Dow. “The global audience and focus on improving the well-being and satisfaction of increasingly demanding consumers make it an ideal venue to introduce our newest EcoSense™ Surfactant and MoistStar™ HA+ Moisturizing Technology, both of which were specifically developed in response to our customers’ need for more effective skin care and sustainable cleansing ingredients. “We are also highly focused on developing new solutions in response to consumers seeking experiences that can create new sensations and make their lives easier through added convenience, and are inviting personal care players to test our new product concepts that will help shape the future of skin care products.”

In addition, Dow will also invite customers to shape the sensory benefits of future skin care products through interactive demonstration sessions within its booth, as well as present an Innovation Seminar as part of the In-Cosmetics educational program:
